Get close to your questions

Sometimes answers to our questions are closer than we think.

Zen gives as very valuable lessons about life. I would like to share with you this short story. It is up to you how to ponder it.

A soldier came to Hakuin and asked "Is there really a paradise and a hell?"

"Who are you?" inquired Hakuin.

"I am a samurai," the warrior replied.

"You, a samurai!" exclaimed Hakuin. "What kind of ruler would have you as his guard? Your face looks like that of a beggar!"

The soldier became so angry that he began to draw his sword, but Hakuin continued. "So you have a sword! Your weapon is probably as dull as your head!"

As the soldier drew his sword Hakuin remarked "Here open the gates of hell!"

At these words, the samurai, perceiving the discipline of the master, sheathed his sword and bowed.

"Here open the gates of paradise," said Hakuin.

Next time, try to look for your answer around and incide yourself.

A very simple question…or not

Do you have a purpose on your life?

It looks simple, isn’t it?

How do you know that your life has a purpose?

If your life has a purpose, then, how can you be sure that is the same purpose than you suppose?

Has any importance if your life has a purpose or not, to face your everyday life?

Sometimes we make too many questions…and the answer would be just to go ahead step by step.

Move your ass. Do not stay on the sofa as a coach potato.

Make your move. Try something else or try harder what you are doing. Evaluate. Take what is working and leave the rest. Learn. Try again.

Some zen quotes

Zen can help you to get a better thinking.

Just try.

If you understand, things are just as they are; if you do not understand, things are just as they are.
- Zen proverb

The obstacle is the path.
- Zen Proverb

The world is like a mirror, you see? Smile, and your friends smile back.
- Japanese Zen saying

So an ancient once said, "Accept the anxieties and difficulties of this life". Don't expect your practice to be clear of obstacles. Without hindrances the mind that seeks enlightenment may be burnt out. So an ancient once said, "Attain deliverance in disturbances".
- Zen Master Kyong Ho
